Hi Ced,

it seems that there is still some support and answers for joomla 4
joomcar.net/forum/support/320-joomla-joo...-0-1-don-t-work#1669

have you asked them ?

That post was about a different extension.

There's another post
joomcar.net/forum/support/306-joomla-art...snt-support-joomla-4

The dev says that's it's not compatible " No, it is not compatible and need a lot of re-factoring, sorry. "

That was 3 months ago.

you are right, I was on a wrong thread. To ask the dev if he plans to update it or not is the best method

Let me know about the situation :)

Hi
according to our last discussions, I have now checked the extension (as the dev said that he won't update it and can be updated by another one)
BUT, I wonder now if this is not a duplicate feature from my sliders and mediabox...
as you know in Mediabox CK you can already have a gallery mode,
joomcar.net/joomla-article-images-upload...gallery_template=raw
and you can also use Slider CK or Slideshow CK to do something like that
joomcar.net/joomla-article-images-upload...-gallery-plugin-demo
joomcar.net/joomla-article-images-upload...y_template=highslide

I think that the best method would be to have an addition of my existing extensions to load the images from the article in the same "idea"
What do you think ?

Hi Ced,

That could be a possible idea.

But.....

The reason why I think this particular plugin is good to have  is that it doesn't require a module/component to be accessed to inset the slideshow in an article.

This means that any author of any article can add a slideshow easily from within the articles tabs. And the images for the slideshow are processed in the article tabs.

I agree there are other gallery options, but as far as I know they require modules/component access, so for a simple registered user this becomes cumbersome, or not preferred by some admins.

Case in point, the project I want to test the J4 plugin in is a car sales website where the car salesperson will add the data. They don't have the skills to really use modules etc. I'll send you a link via email so you can see how I have it in a J3 dev site.

The plugin also offers the opportunity to place the slideshow (not gallery) in Joomla's various rendering positions so it can be set in a article override file for uniformity. Another feature I like is the way it handles the images and keeps them in their own folders.

I think this plugin is the only one of its kind, as such should be reborn.
