Cannot edit on front end

please as asked, just try with protostar. if you have put the files again, go in extensions manager >> discover >> template protostar >> install

this will easily tell you if the template is in cause or not

Thanks for the instruction on installing the template - didn't realize that was how to do it (after 7+ years of using Joomla!).

No difference with Protostar as the template. Edit | Edit article | Validate | Save. Edits are lost and I'm returned to the first Edit screen.

Facing this same (first) issue again. Just upgraded the template from Themler (which, despite my dislike for it, allowed editing!) to TC. Now, though the Edit button is there, there's no menu that appears when clicked. All users experience the same issue.

I switched to Protostar and it's no different.
