Trying to create this menu design

Hi all, trying to use maximenu and maximenu params to create this menu design, I was sure I would be able to achieve it, but not having much luck...

Every primary menu item is the same width, and can be the same height, so that should be easy, I can see that each menu item can have an image, just not sure if it is supported as a background image and still have the text over the top etc.

There will only be the one dropdown, I don't need anything fancy, just the same colour, same width, plain text with a highlight colour as you mouse over it.

Can anyone suggest how this could be made please.

yes you can use background image for your links and the text in white. What is the problem exactly ?

I must be missing some vital "Thing", I cannot seem to find how to set the height and width, the background images I set, but all I seem to get is a text menu, vertical.

I cannot seem to see where to set the font, I can set size and colour, but that seems to be ignored as well.

LOL, just not getting something "vital" to all this.

Ahh, found the error of my ways somethat, getting somewhere now.

Been reading and following the docs, but 2 things I cannot seem to set, the width and height of the level 1 items, I want them to all be 149x81 high, the menu text centred horizontally, but say 20px from bottom and then get the background images I have set to display, so far, they do not.

Lastly, don't want the image to show there is a dropdown menu on an item, I guess I can set that to a 1x1 transparent image, but cannot see to just turn that image off.

there is no params in the options to give a height and width because this may cause too many issues. If you want to do this you must do it with CSS.
right, I'm planning to add some options on each setting to just turn it off easily. For now you can remove the image into the theme folder
