Side MaxiCK menu is clear in IE displays bad

We have maxi menu ck setup to display a side menu. In IE the side menu background is clear and mixes with the text of the body of that page. This doesn't happen in Firefox or Chrome. The background is a nice gradient in Chrome/Firefox.

This is an intranet site so no way for me to easily give you a URL. The top menu is made from maxiCK and that one doesn't have this issue in IE but the menu looks more square like something in IE isn't reading it correctly.

The first one is in Chrome and the second is in IE. The top menu is missing the nice look and feel of your menu, could this be related?

yes, that's normal. You must write to Microsoft
IE does not understand the gradient property, but the border-radius is OK in IE9 (not IE8 and less)
