Mootools effects breaking iOS dropdown function

Mootools effects breaking iOS dropdown function was created by dustin5

Hello,
Having an issue where iOS devices can't access maximenu top level parent items unless mootools effects are disabled. With mootools effects enabled, users can click (touch) the parent item and invoke the dropdown, but can't select the parent item link itself. Turning off effects in the maximenu module enables all to work properly, but just not as cool-looking for other users.

I don't have a public url with it NOT working right now, but this site has mootools disabled in the maximenu module to allow iOS functionality. On the green bar, the link to "CAS Events" is an example that was not working correctly with mootools on.

Sometimes I can leave mootools on, and the dropdown works, but is offset. This is screenshot from the iPad simulator:

Any ideas what's causing this?

Thanks,
Dusty

the parent item and invoke the dropdown, but can't select the parent item link itself

of course you can only have one action on click

then I have tested your website but have no problem with the dropdown ...

Maybe I didn't explain it clearly.
Please try the same example I gave before again on iPad/iPhone as I've re-enabled mootools and you can only use the parent item as a trigger to open the dropdown.
With mootools off, you can use first touch as trigger to open, then second touch of parent to visit the parent item's link.

I've re-enabled mootools and you can only use the parent item as a trigger to open the dropdown.

this is the normal behavior. I have worked on a solution to enable the redirect on the second click but there was too much issue due to the mobile browser compatibility. So I reverted the behavior back to this.

Hi,

I have a menu with three levels and Mootools effect turned on.
I'm testing on IOS.

A menu item on the second level has sub menu items AND is connected with an article, too.
Clicking this menu item opens and closes the sub menu of level three but I'm not able to open the article connected with this menu item (e.g. with double click).

Is this caused by the issue you described here, Ced? Means, that there only can be a one click action OR a double click action on a menu item.

Thanks,
Ralf
