unfortunately, it doesn't work on our clients page. I've replaced the JS file in modules/mod_maximenuck/assets but nothing changes.
We're using Maximenu CK 8.2.16 / Joomla 3.9.0 on this site-> www.cuss.de/en/

An "click to close outside the Dropdown" -option would be fine!

the CK layout in the english menu (module settings) is already set to default. Unfortunately it doesn't work.

you are right, in fact this feature is not yet implemented into the module. I have only added it in the script, so you must edit the file
modules/mod_maximenuck/assets/maximenuck.js
line 33 replace

closeclickoutside: '0'

with

closeclickoutside: '1'

this will enable the outside click. Let me know if this works for you

PS : use the latest maximenu module and not the JS file in this thread
