Please read these few notes if you are willing to update your website to Joomla 4

About the Joomla 4 update
The important thing that you must understand is that updating to Joomla 4 shouldn't be taken lightly. You should not update your production site to Joomla 4 without first testing everything on a copy of the site.
Please use the Joomla forum and community to get more informations about this process.

Compatible extensions
The list of the extensions and their compatibility is listed in the JED ("Extensions" tab) :

If you are using an extension that is not yet compatible, please use the contact form to ask for it.


Template
If you have created your template with Template Creator CK into Joomla 3, the template will not necessarily work with Joomla 4, in particular because of overrides, and it also depends with which version of Template Creator CK you created it But you can simply edit it in Template Creator CK >> Page> > Information >> Joomla version >> select Joomla 4, and regenerate the tempate
The best method would be to make a copy of the template in Template Creator CK by renaming it for J4, so you have the old template running on J3 and the new on J4, there is only the template selection toggle to do in Joomla when your migration is done

A propos de le mise à jour vers Joomla 4
Ce qu'il faut savoir, c'est que la mise à jour vers Joomla 4 ne doit pas être prise à la légère. Il ne faut pas mettre à jour son site en production vers Joomla 4 sans avoir tout testé au préalable sur une copie du site.

Si vous utilisez une extension qui n'est pas encore compatible, merci d'utiliser le formulaire de contact pour demander sa mise à jour

Template
Si vous avez créé votre template avecTemplate Creator CK dans Joomla 3, , le template ne fonctionnera pas forcément avec Joomla 4, notamment à cause des override, et ça dépend aussi avec quelle version de Template Creator CK vous l'avez créé.
Mais vous pouvez simplement l'éditer dans Template Creator CK >> Page >> Informations >> version Joomla >> sélectionner Joomla 4, et regénèrer le tempate
L'idéal serait de faire une copie du template dans Template Creator CK en le renommant pour j4, pour avoir l'ancien template qui tourne sur J3 et le nouveau sur J4, il n'y a que la bascule de la sélection du template à faire dans Joomla quand ta migration est faite

When checking extensions compatibility before upgrading from Joomla 3.10.1 to Joomla 4.0.2, the scanner shows:

System - Pagebuilder CK Potential Upgrade Issue
System - Mobile Menu CK Potential Upgrade Issue

How do you explain that?

this is a good question
the reason is simple : the plugins are included in the extension (component, module, plugins). Only the component has the update info.
Joomla alerts you because this is a SYSTEM plugin and this can crash your website. As it does not find any update info directly from the plugin, it warns

BUT, I have put the list above so that the users can know if the extension is compatible : check that you have at least the correct version and everything shall be ok

System - Pagebuilder CK Potential Upgrade Issue

This message was true, The upgrade really failed exactly, by Pagebuilder CK (It's just my opinion )
When I uninstalled it before upgrading everything went fine

System - Mobile Menu CK Potential Upgrade Issue

This message did not matter, I did not uninstall Mobile Menu CK and the update was successful anyway

1/ trying to upgrade your website from J3 to J4 with Page Builder CK installed returned an error ?
2/ using Page Builder CK on J4 works

Can you explain to me in a simple way where this error comes from?
Page builder CK stopped the page after updating. If I uninstall it before upgrading, everything is fine and the site is running. How to fix it ?
