just wondering if I need to update again the module Slideshows after I reported the fix to the problem ( in the first thread ).

But if you have added only that piece of code , then I can not update it .

if it works then you have the latest version installed, I have fixed the issue immediately in the same module version

I would like to thank you again for your quick intervention. Everything is working fine with the last release install. However, from the previous release that has provoked havoc on some of the Joomla websites I maintained, a link appears under the component section (see picture attached).

My question is: how can I remove this link that shows an error 404 once clicked?

this is strange as nothing has changed in this way into the module, there is no reason why you have an entry in your admin menu ...
The only way (without uninstall/resintall the module) is to go in the database to change the admin menu and remove this entry
