Slider seems to be resizing images

Hi all, I have the slider installed on a Joomla 2.5.19 site, and I am experiencing a strange issue.

I have the slider published in a module position that has a background image assigned, which is 1920px wide by 497px high. The slides are all 1600px wide by 497px high. I have tried making the background image 1600px wide by 497px high, tried 'auto' for height and width, tried 1920px for width and 497px for height, 1600px for width and 497px for height, and just about anything else I could think of without success.

No matter which settings I try, it seems that the slider always resizes the slides to be somewhat smaller than the background size. Again, this is even if the background image was set to 1600px wide by 497px high, and no matter what I enter into the height and width fields. Is this a bug, or normal operation and I am just missing something?

but it is very specific and this also depends on the structure of your template because in fact the slideshow takes the width allowed by the template

Hi - The module position of the template is using the full width of the monitor, whatever that width is. It is not contained by the width of the site.
