Wie kann man Einträge aus den Menu items (wird bei der Vergabe eines Links benötigt) löschen?
inaktiv setzen hilft nicht, auch in den Papierkorb verschieben nicht.

Dude, this is to choose an/one/1 internal link! You don't have to aktivate or deaktivate anything!
In this "menu" you can see all your menus that contain all your links! Select one of them and the window closes automatically!
(To select a link, use the + sign to expand the "menu" and klick on an link.)
Save the modul and refresh your website for checking the Slideshow.

If you want to insert an external link, e.g. to another website,
simply write the URL by hand in the "URL Link" field of your slide.
