Is Template Creator CK better choice than Gantry5?

Hello, I'm new to this site and practically new to template creation. Actually I created a site using Joomla some years ago, and I used Artisteer in that case, at that time it was practically the only solution available for creating templates.

Now I came back to Joomla to create two new sites, and I discovered that there are more options for creating templates: (at least) Artisteer, TemplateToaster, Gantry 5 and Template Creator CK. Now I'm interested in understanding the differences with Gantry 5. Anyone of you used Gantry 5 and can explain me why Template Creator CK is better (or worse)?

Template Creator CK is better in my mind because I'm the developer.
Just that Gantry is a framework, this means that is already a template.
Template Creator CK is a component / tool used to create one or more templates.

I've tried Gantry off and on since Rocket launched it. Always found it unintuitive and have never been able to get anything even simple out of it. However many others have produced some great themes so it's really just me then!

However, I will say the TC is EASY! Not unfeatured or wimpy, but logical and very, very easy to use. Yet powerful. Combine it with Page Builder and building a Joomla site is ridiculously simple! I recommend you get Page Builder Parameters too if you go that way. A very little investment for good gain.

And Ced is very responsive to help requests and doesn't treat you like some annoying idiot who doesn't know programming (like you do Joomlaworks/K2!!!).

Just to understand a little bit better, are the templates of this site and www.template-creator.com created with Template Creator CK? And with Template Creator CK can I create templates like these?

In particular, what I would like to create is a template with a nice menu, either horizontal or vertical, maybe fixed (I mean, not scrolling or disappearing when the page is scrolled down) with nice effects (both static and dynamic, e.g. shadows, different images and/or icons in menu items when the item is clicked or active, not clicked and hovered, nice dynamic effects when the submenu appears), etc.

Is this possible to do with Template Creator CK (and maybe some other CK components)?

yes, template-creator.com has been created a long time ago with a previous version of Template Creator

for the menu, you can use my module Maximenu CK, it allows you to have some icons, images, fixed position, and many other things
