Unable to make adjustments and IE errors

Hi.
I am unable to get any adjustments to take effect (i have used the menu before and own the VM and Styles plugin)
I have two menu's i am trying to configure, they both look odd in IE (one can barely be seen) and neither will edit.
I did have a jquery issue but i have sorted this with a plugin to force v1.6 which has solved all other issues apart from the menu's so hoping that you can let me know what i am doing wrong.

In FF I also have one menu submenus going under the VM one - but maybe there is something simple overall that is wrong here ?

someone else had the same issue, I don't know what it this but the code s### ! there is no ended brackets so all css are killed ! and this does not come from maximenu
