How to put the one manu item as opened default

HI All,
How can i put one of my menu item as opened(defaul) .the below image shows my requirement

If any one achived with this type of requirement please let me Know the procedure.

this works but only for active items. If the item is active then it is opened
For other items (when nothing is active) I should add an option to give the Itemid to be opened by default

Thank you for your replay.How can we add the menu item as active .Because when the user browses the home page the menu should display on right side of my website as i uploaded the image in last post.

But i have also this question about menu item opened by default, is there any solutions to make it?

please remind me in one or two weeks to see if I have the time to look at it, because for now only the active item will be opened by default
