Readmore

Hi Ced

I can't get the readmore to work.
I created an article on a row and then pulled in a read more element into a new row below it.
Then, a row below this contained more of the article.
The readmore does not shown up just all the text.
What am I doing wrong.
Using 3.3.4

are you using a blog layout from joomla ? the readmore only works for a blog

ok, I didn't know readmore only worked for a blog.
I have now configured a blog instead.
So when I click on read more in the blog how do I get an article to open the hidden text on the same page - right now it jumps to a new window to display the full article.

this is how it works since the beginning of joomla
place a readmore in your text to split your content into an intro text and full text
the intro text will be shown in the blog layout and when you click on the readmore you will come to the full article

if you want something that hides the text on the same page, you must use a extension for that. This is not standard

intro is shown in category view with a read more
if you need to do that in item view, you'll have to get an extension to do that or to "sheat" with cedric's product by using accordeon for instance

Thanks for your input, I wanted the read more to open on the same page just below the intro text.
Will look at some other ideas.
