Mysterious characters appearing on Page

On my home page some mysterious characters (plus signs +) have appeared at the bottom of 2 columns of a 4 column layout. I can't see where they have come from????

Any ideas?

I'm working on the problem

I opened the page, saved it.
I then cleared cache, but characters still there?

then hover the rows/items to remove the controls and save, the problem is that the controls have not beed removed before the save method and this is missing in my code to clean the page
I will add this asap
