Only happens in a PB module. I use the following for my base footer code and modify as needed:
Code:
<p><a href="">Home</a> | <a href="contact">Contact</a> | Phoenix Website Design by <a href="http://www.citruskiwi.com" target="_blank" rel=nofollow />CitrusKiwi</a></p> <p>Copyright © 2005 - <?php echo date("Y"); ?>. Business Name. All rights reserved.</p>

However, despite JCE being set to allow PHP, on save,
Code:
<?php echo date("Y"); ?>
is commented out to
Code:
<!--?php echo date("Y"); ?-->
. Makes no difference whether Activate Content Plugins is set or not. When using this in a custom module it's fine, though I do have to have the plugin (3rd party) DirectPHP installed and activated.

In the past I've just done a custom module, then brought that into a PB module using the module element. Why would that be OK, but using direct in a PB module isn't?

For an ordinary Joomla article or custom module, you need to have Allow PHP set in JCE, DirectPHP plugin installed and activated and set Prepare Content to "Yes" under the module tab Options. Then the PHP is not stripped..

Perhaps. :-) I've been using this method for so many years I'm used to it. And I think you meant Sourcerer from Peter van Western at Regular Labs. I'll give that a go and see if PBCK still does the same.
