Can't edit in page builder

Brand new joomla install, has the latest page builderCk and pagebuilderckparams,
I made a new article with pagebuilder and it worked fine, came back 2 days later to edit the article and when I click to edit nothing happens.
The article is still visable on the page but can't edit

Clearing browser cache didn't help.
I updated to the 1.5.3 and the problem started, host is Site ground using PHP 7
I reinstalled 1.4.7 and everything works fine.
My other site on Go Daddy using PHP 5.6.3 works fine with the 1.5.3 update

@apcom03 : for the update message, this comes from the server that can not communicate with mine. This is something we should check with our host providers

Cleared the cache a second time and now it works.
