I know you said that this does not work with warp and t3, but how about with the xtc framework from Joomlaxtc.com? I'm about to redo one of my sites and of all of the frameworks I have seen to date theirs offers the greatest control but is also the fastest of all of them I have seen so far. Hopefully this does work under that framework.
If you don't know, perhaps I (assuming they have no issue with me doing so) can send one of their templates to you so that you could test it out to verify that it does and or fix and bugs if they are easy enough.
I have used most of the frameworks out there and I have to say, it takes a bit of time to get used to it but its pretty sweet. I do have your template creator and maximenu already and trying to get the hang of using the template-creator still but I'm getting there, this would be a nice addition though.
