updating to Joomla 4.3.0 "crashed" my test installation, now fixed

Hello CEd and frens!

An update from Joomla! 4.2.9 to 4.3.0 is treated like the update from J3 to J4,
The installed plugins and components are checked and a list of suspicious plugins is displayed.
I post here because most of what I had seen were PBCK and Maximenu CK....

Because I tried the update on a test environment,
I just ironed it over.

Unfortunately the result was disappointing, Maximenu not loaded, animated logo without javascript, no content.

After some searching, disable, enable, try everything,
I noticed that the set title showed an error message!

"setcookie(): Expects exactly 3 arguments when argument #3 ($expires_or_options) is an array"

Here is the solution:

Change the cookie lifetime from 'Year' to 'Session' in the System plugin 'Language filter'.

Docs.Joomla.org
J4.x
Error setCookie()
General Information
This pertains only to Joomla! version(s): 4.3.0
docs.joomla.org/J4.x:Error_setCookie()

After setting the language filter after "Session" everything looks good again and the CK Components or plugins work flawlessly as far as I can see....

But can not hurt to check the setting before the update.
Backup database and data before update, always!

Hi
thank you for your feedback
if the animations are broken after the update, then the problem may be some Javascript errors in the page (may be not dure to the CK exensions, not sure)
You can not call that a "crash", because a crash is when your page does not load at all

I note your solution in case of other users would have the same problem
If you have an url to show me the issue, I can have a look

PS / I reproduced your issue, this is related to the Language filter plugin, nothing to do with my extensions ;)
by default I had the liftetime on "session", that is why it worked

HI CEd, don't panic! :)
I had written everything...

It is an official J4 error that can occur when the session cookie is set accordingly....
docs.joomla.org/J4.x:Error_setCookie()

I didn't know that at the beginning and had to search 2 hours for the cause.
(I'm a little slower, enjoying the troubleshooting. ;))

Like I sait:

After setting the language filter to "Session" everything looks good again and the CK Components or plugins work flawlessly as far as I can see....

But during the update users will be informed that some plugins might cause problems, this will raise questions...

Let's wait for other users come to ask!? ;)

Thanks, no problem here, I fixed it for me!

PS: In German, quotation marks are also used to diminish or invert the subject.  "crash" means: Not a real crash, or even a small "crash". It looked like nothing was working at first...
Right, sounds big, but not so dramatic, therefor the quotes... :)

Have a nice day!
