Can't link to menu item using link in module options

Hi, I'm having a problem. For some reason when I link to a menu item using the options of the module, the slide isn't clickable.
I found that linking to the article is just another method of populating the text description then opening a new page.
I can see two solutions to the problem. lower the text box to below the image when using article link OR find a fix to the menu item link method.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have tested by my side >> new module >> added a link using the button on the 1st slide >> save an publish >> it works
can you please do the same test on your site with a new module ?
also confirm which version of Carousel CK you are using 2.0.3 light/pro ?
