menu doesn't collapse in mobile view

i just installed the mobile plugin, but when i pull up the site on the phone, the menu is not collapsed. it's a really big menu and it also won't scroll past the first few items in the catalog. what am i missing?

in the module >> mobile options >> you can set it to display in a accordion way
then it will only expand on click
