Warning: Creating default object from empty value

I get the following error on maximenu module from a joomla install that I have:
"Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/mysite/public_html/modules/mod_maximenuck/helper.php on line 184

line 184= } else {
$parentItem->submenuswidth = strval($item->colwidth);
}
How to fix the code so that the warning no longer shows and to fix the problem once for all ?

it seems that you don't have the latest version of the module
if you don't want to update, go in your site configuration >> server >> error report and set it to none

but i think i have an uptaded version (see attached file) Tryied updating the module to current version 8.2.11 but the error is still there

few questions to try to find the problem :
1/ are you using the maximenu params or not ?
2/ are you using [col=xxx] in the item titles ?

please give me the anwsers, so that I can continue the investigation
