Explorer 9 Flicker on hover

Hello,
I've got the Maximenu CK set up as my main menu and the dropdown works perfectly in FF and Chrome, but when in Internet Explorer 8 and I hover over the parent of a dropdown or click on the item to dropdown the second level menu, there is a change in the vertical sizing which causes the container below to drop or flicker as it moves down about 12 pixels. I turned off the Fancy effects which made it slightly better. Also tried turning off the javascript effects which made no difference. Any clues would be helpful.

Any progress with this, I have the same problem - the positioning goes nuts in IE9.

on the IE emulator on IE9 I have no problem
on IEtester on IE9 it has problems

On my website joomlack.fr on both emulators it works on IE89
Please test my top menu on joomlack.fr on IE9 and tell me if it works by your side

Please also try with the native protostar template to see if it works
