Simple_themes for v6 versus v7

Simple_themes for v6 versus v7 was created by drpasadena
Salut.
New empty site for Joomla 3.3.1. Installed MaxiMenu 7.1.12a_j30, and purchased installed updates for both PARAMS and for (Simple_)THEMES. Set the menu to display in Beez3:Position 1.
The "orange" menu below shows how the "new simple_theme" renders. It is in the wrong position (2) and it is right-aligned.
The "blue" menu below happens when I manually overwrite the "simple_blue_v6" folder in themes folder with a copy of my "old" simple_theme package. The menu is in the correct position (1) and it is left-aligned.
Since this is a new, fresh installation of everything, I don't know what the problem could be. Any advice is most appreciated.
