Display levels differently for desktop vs mobile.

Display levels differently for desktop vs mobile. was created by cpaschen

I have a site where I need to have 3 levels of menu items. However, for desktop, I need all the sub-sub menus to be displayed WITH the sub-menus (sample 1 - desktop-menu) but on mobile I need them to react as normal sub-sub menus (sample 2 - phone menu).

It appears that the only way to make the desktop version work is to have the 'sub-sub' menus actually just be at the same level as the 'category' (sub menu). But then everything is at the same level on the mobile.

Is there any way to make this work other than to have 2 menus - one for desktop and one for mobile?

Hmmm ... only allows me to upload one image at a time.
Attached to this one SHOULD be the desktop sample.

OK ... so you can apparently only add ONE image per thread.

So attached is ONE image that shows what both menus need to look like.

(BTW ... it would be really nice if we could upload 2 images - to include comparisons like this).

It really shouldn't be THIS hard to use a forum (esp. Kunena) to share images.

I guess we'll have to do this with links.

This is what they should look like:

Here's the desktop version:

Here's the mobile version:
www.vibrantfaith.org/vfhome/mobile-menu.html

Any ideas?

Hi
you can use the option "stop the dropdown" at level 2 in the effects options of the module. For the mobile version you can use the plugin maximenu mobile

I don't understand how that would work.
I've tried setting the 'stop the dropdown', and also set the 'always show submenus'.

The effect I'm getting is that you still have to click (or hover, depending on that setting) to see the 3rd level menus.

I need to have 3 levels:

Level 1 - main menu, all options visible
Level 2 - sub menu, become visible when you click on one of the level 1 options
Level 3 -
Desktop: These ALL need to be visible when level 2 is visible, without an additional click or hover.*
Mobile: Needs to work as the standard/default as displayed in the mobile plugin sample screen shots (we have the mobile plugin installed and working).

*In our case we have:

Level 1 - 6 menu options
Level 2 (of the first Level 1 menu option) has has 6 menu options
Each of these level 2 options has about 5 level 3 options.

When you click on the level 1 first one you need to be able to see all of the level 2 options ALONG WITH all the level 3 options under each of those level 2 options.

The only way I've been able to get it to work has been to set the Level 2 options with different classes (making them bold) and have them each start a new column, and then have all the entries that should be level 3 just be a different style and displayed differently (but still actually be level 2 entries) - but this prevents the mobile menu from working properly.

Is there any way to make all of the level 3 options appear along with all the level 2 options? (like the sample provided earlier)?
