Maximenu CK with on mobile devices NO effect

looking at

www.tara-ingenieure.de/

on my smartphone the webpage just looks the same as on the pc. I thought the menu would be shown in a compressed form automatically by the css of Maximenu CK?

What do I have to do to adapt the site for mobile devices?
Or do I need the mobile plugin?

the mobile plugin is actually the best way to show your menu on mobile device, because a dropdown menu is really not made for mobile
