hover color

Hi all ...
can anybody please tell me how to change mouse over color background (not font color)for all menu levels ? also please tell me how can I change 2nd level menu color and its hover color.
I'll really appreciate your help ...

How can I change the hover background-image of the first level, when the mouse go over the second level in the CSS file?

I could not figure out which <li> class is addressed by the first menu item when I mouse over the menu items of the second level.

The red border left (background-image) of the first menu item disappears on mouseover ot the items of level two, but should remain.

I think that you have set the hover on a:hover
you must put it on li:hover > a
