Separator for blank theme. How can I add this?

Hello,
Thank you for this wonderful tool to replace default navigation. I wuld like to find out about the right code to insert in the right place to have a separator for the maximenu blank theme just like in the default theme.

I have tried to copy the code from default theme into the blank theme but miserably failed in doing this. Blank theme is nice if you want a transparent background for the menu bar but no separator between the items does make it look bad. I have added "|" to the end of menu items for now but this is not a real solution.

Any chance for some help in this?

Thanks. I know this is possible with a bg image but I have no idea how to do this in your template phps. I have tried to copy the code from the default and pasted this in a few places of the blank's theme php but had no luck. Obviously I do not know where to stick the code snippet in.
