Menu Squashed in IE8

Hello

I have installed and configured Maximenu v6.1.2 using the blank theme for my site and it is working properly in Firefox and Chrome. I have a problem in IE8 where the menu is all squashed or scrunched up to the left hand side of the Top Menu. Could you please help resolve this problem?
