In installed the MaxiMenu with the Hika layout.
After that I followed the instructions.
But I don't see anything happen.

no, this is just a problem in joomla.You must publish maximenu like any other module in a correct template position.Actually it is not

for the position you must play with the horizontal gap in the plugin maximenu params, or set it in css with margins on div.floatck
