Ok, then I finally have tested JA Purity II on joomla 2.5, Maximenu is working
Layout default, position left

One more thing, disable the template cache system to see the changes in your params !

Thank you so much for help. Yes I can get it working with template JA Purity II in positions other than position "hornav" which is the horizontal main navigation at the top. Can you get it working in the hornav position?.
