Menu problem with joomla 2.5

I have run into a strange menu problem. This is what I did.

Install new joomla 2.4 without sample data
Install gantry framework+default template
Install extra language+create multilangual menu's

Now my issue is that child menu items are invisible. My menu's have +- 10 and 5 sub-items.

Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

what you are doing wrong ? : using gantry....
the framework has some css that break Maximenu.

delete the display:none; on #rt-menu ul.menu ul

However I do have a question... Can you recommend something better than gantry? (I have run into more errors with gantry. For example it's menu control system doenst work and its own horizontal split menu gives php errors...).

I just want a clean site with a horizontal menu, how it looks now is fine by me (blue/white with grey theme).

Unfortunately when I try to edit the default atomic / beez theme it takes a LOT of time and then it still looks very crappy.

With gantry I was able to get close to what I want in +- 5 minutes because there are sliders for number of columns etc.

I don't like the framework because they are very complicated, but they can be some great tools of course!
I prefer doing simple templates without "useless" code or library that will break other things.

or find one on joomlaos.de (be careful anyway about what you download because they can be made with artisteer which is not really a good thing for me)

I install clean joomla 2.5.4 and i install Maximenu CK module v6. I make menu but the menu hide me when i go to open that menu and i don't where is the problem??

please check your config, it seems that you load maximenu in another megamenu. You shall replace the existing by maximenu, and this is not a bug from my extension
