Add space between menu items

Hi,

I have a horizontal top menu with drop down sub menues, and I would like to have a 10px gap between the top level menu items. Is that possible? How?

Actually, I've been trying to use separators, but the separators are not showing at all. I can only use separators for changing columns or loading modules. Isn't separators supposed to be visible with this module?

you can use some separators if you want , no problem.But I don't know why you want to use separators to add some gap, you must do it with css

So how do I do it with CSS? Problem is that I want the gaps to be transparent, and a solid fill and rounded top corners for the menu buttons. How do I achieve that with CSS?
