Make main menu sticky

I am using Maximenu for the main menu of my site, full width at the top of the page. I would  like to make the menu sticky, as is quite common on a number of sites. 

Is there a simple setting to do this, or do I need to use some sort of CSS? Forgive me if this is already documented. If so, I haven't been able to find the documentation.

you can go in the module options >> effect >> position >> top fixed
this will do it

Now I'm being very pedantic, but is there a way to adjust the animation time for the sticky effect?

the animation time is set to 500ms by default in the script. There is no option to change that
the only option is to set "no animation effect"
