submenu width

I try to make the submenu's wider. But it doesn't work.
I use extreme long menu-texts in the sub-submenu and I want to make the blue boxes wider, but I can't make that happen. I tried the code for the wordwrap you suggested, but then only the text is one line, and the blue boxes stay the same. A percentage or 'auto' doesn't work either.
