Maximenu and Cassiopeia was created by thrak1
I successfully upgraded a Joomla 3 site to Joomla 4 and set up a child template with Cassiopeia as parent and with Maximenu CK in the menu position and the Main Menu selected as source.
I've found that when I click on a Maximenu CK menu item, the underlying Cassiopeia layout appears momentarily - flashes - before my styled layout appears. If I disable Maximenu CK and use the Joomla native menu, the problem goes away.
Any idea what might be causing this behaviour?

I see a flashing header in blue with the cassiopeia name
but this is not related tot he menu, I got exactly the same by pressing F5, by clicking he other menu
this is a problem from your template, it seems that you still have the cassiopeia elements in your page, example

I'm using a Cassiopeia child template - wouldn't that mean that Cassiopeia elements should appear?
Just to be clear, if I disable Maximenu CK (I've done that now) the flashing header stops appearing?

I know the child template feature, but not duplicate it end fully customize it, without any link to the parent
I have tested without maximenu ck, exactly as you said the flashing is gone.
honestly I have never issued a such problem with maximenu ck, I think that there is really something to do with the template too
please put maximenu on the page again, so that I can inspect once more
