Why does maximenu-ck not respect the "Link Rel Attribute" settings from the menu items?

I have 9.0.11 but the mobile menu still ignores the rel tag.

I thought the mobile menu is part of maximenu. Is it not? In the MaxiMenu module I have a tab "Mobile Menu CK" and the menu items displayed by that tab ignore the rel attribute.
