Creating two columns

I'm having a heck of a time getting my menu to divide into two columns. All other parameters, colors, widths, sizes all work fine. The only documentation I could find on your site was for Joomla 2. Any updated documentation? I'm sure I'm missing something really simple, but just cant put my finger on it.
