Table from the db

There could be an easy way to show the contents of a database table?
I'd like to have a tool (a Page Builder widget or a brand new extension) that let me select both dhe table of the database and its fields, so that they can be showed within a Joomla article, formatted as a table.
I could be able to format the table as well and to have horizontal scrollbar if the columns are too much to be showed inside the window.

In this way I could direclty use any datum existing in the db.

I don't really see the purpose of this feature ... but you can do it if you want
you can simply create a pagebuilderck plugin (addon) with the needed options and that will render you the table data
