Slideshow Update Message

I am trying to update Slideshow CK from extensions manager but I am getting the following message.

"Error connecting to the server: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
Package download failed:
Please go on Joomlack.fr to download the last version."

shouldn't the slideshow update automatically?

I currently have version 1.3.0

you can't upgrade automatically, you must go on joomlack.fr and download then install the new version over the existing one

How will I go about installing the new version over the existing one?

will my parameters be deleted when this is done?

your parameters will not be deleted, but backup your website before any upgrade
