Auto Archiving Images/slides

Hi Ced,

This is a great FREE product and is working very well with plenty of options.

But, what would make it really great would be the option to archive images by the user settings a date and time for when it should finish.

I am using it in conjunction with a latest events calendar (which once the date has passed disappears) and this feature would complement it well. At the moment I have to go in and remove them manually.

At work I maintain a website (I do not have full admin rights though) using Squiz Matrix and we use this feature all the time. In fact we can set when it is to be made live and again when to auto-archive.

Have you ever thought about doing this as I am sure people would pay to have this option?

Hi
I have not planned this and I don't really understand the need :)
you can set the period with the joomla dates options

Hello,

If you don't understand what I mean I will explain it to you.

Scenario:

You have five sliding images advertising different events on different days. Once the first date has past the image would auto-archive thus removing it from the slideshow.

Then, when the second date passes it to auto-archives leaving three images and so on.

This is automating the process saving someone the need to remove slides.

Using the Joomla dates option from the 'Details' menu as you said would not work as it would archive the whole slideshow.

I hope that makes sense as it does to me! ;)

But, if you cannot do it then so be it.

Hi Ced,

Here is the reminder you requested - Did you have time to look at the feature of setting times and dates to making images live and auto-archiving them?

This would be a great feature that I reckon many people would use as it would save so much time and the need to go in and make things live and delete them later etc.

I have a website going live in a about two weeks and would be good to have it by then if possible!
