Move Caption Block

Hello,

I would like to move the caption block to the same block as the thumbnails, I need them to be in-line with the thumbs. I've been trying all the css styling tricks that I know and it seems that the caption is just a part of the image block. I tried to alter the default.php in the templ folder but can't get it to work. I have attached a screen shot of what I am trying to do. Any

help would be greatly appreciated.

ok, so for now it is not possible to put the caption outside the image ...
I have to work on this to find a solution in the future
