but as soon as I enable my frontpageslideshow CK is gone, only the title remains

one further issue
first time when the nav was working, the thumbnails where not in a line but where going downwards out of the page. after a reload of the page it was ok.
on a apple computer this problem stays with firefox and also with safarie

just a question, why using 2 different slideshow on the same page ? you should better use the same twice ...
so the problem is that fpss loads its own jquery, look in the option of this slideshow if you can disable jquery
