Articles not linked

Hi I have set up Slideshow CK to list only featured articles. I have not activated the 'heading linked' or the 'Button' option or the option to select the first image from an article. I set the link option to 'Full Slide' (see attached). The only way it is linking to the articles is if I manage to click the single background image. This is not intuitive nor a reflection of the settings. How can I get Slideshow CK to adhear to the settings?
