Html altered upon saving in Title but not description

Hi

I am having a strange problem where html is altered in the "Title" field of the Slideshow. Html in the Description is working fine, and the option "Strip HTML tags" is set to "no".

Specifically, I am trying to add a link to my title field, like this:
<a href=" www.link.com ">Title

After saving, it becomes:
<a href=|dq|https://www.link.com|dq|>Title

However, oddly, the same thing does not happen in the description field - links save fine there.

I am at a loss - any ideas? I tried this with a fresh default/demo module and still ran into the same problem.

Sorry, that is actually what I had originally... it got altered when I changed the original link to the example link.com. It doesn't work.

ok, can you please give me the url of the page where I can see the issue
to be clear, the characters are still replaced in the admin, but the frontend shall show the correct link
