SlideshowCK frontend options open and close so cannot edit

A front editor (not Super User) and also an 'Administrator' login (created to test this issue; login details for you below) has been given access to module editing on the frontend but when clicking on any of the SlideshowCK options, they open up briefly and then close again about 0.5 seconds later, so there is no time to make any changes.

When I logged in on the frontend as a Super User, I was not even given the option to edit the module at all - no 'pen' icon showing, although it was there for other modules.

I have tested on Firefox and Chrome on my Windows 10 64-bit PC.

You can log in to the front end with this information then go to the home page and attempt to edit the slider at the top. Thanks.

nothing to do with Slideshow CK, this is totally managed by Joomla
I have tested with another module (title of the page) and the problem is the same ...
