how to prevent autoplay of a local video?

I just know ck slideshow and it is vrey usefull and simple to configure.
With online videos (youtube, etc) it works very well, but when I try to use a locally stored video I have some problems.
the first one is: the local video starts automatically, (I would like that the video starts only if and when I decide)
the second one is: the local video plays only for few seconds, that is the "display time" set for f the image, if I want to see the.
It is possible to correct these problems? how?
