how have you loaded teh slideshow ? with a tag into an article ?

the module works into an article. The problem here, for an unknown reason, the module is not rendered at all into the article, that is the problem
you can try
1/ to load another module into your article and see if it works
2/ to create a new slideshow module with the demo data, and load it into your article. See if it works
