In my opinion, the possibility to set a link in the module is a must-have option. Otherwise, the module is very nice, but often quite useless.
I tried to insert a hyperlink within the text, but when I save the text the link has gone.

for the link issue you mean in the editor from the module options ?

I'd like the user can click the image to go to a specific page.
I tried to achieve my goal by inserting a hyperlink in the the text that I can write in the Text Options tab (Custom text box). But the hyperlink disappear after the text has been saved.

This is my opinion too. But users seem to get crazy for it. So: my customers pay, my customers are right!
