Only show top level items on startup

Hello,
i' am currently locally testing the nice accordion menu. One thing i'am wondering abouzt is the following: is it possible to show only top level menu items on startup of the page (everything at lower levels should be collapsed)? At the moment the first item in the menu will be expanded.

I don't really understand, could you explain more, and with screenshots.
Actually the submenus open only if there is an active item

Was my fault. Reloading the page, reloads of course the current sub url. The menu stays expanded depending on the current sub page.
